Carlson, Waldo S., 94, of La Port City died March 19, (no year), at Sunny Crest Nursing Home in Dysart of natural causes. He was born August 1, 1907, north of Allerton in Wayne County, the son of Seymour A. and Anna L. (Schindall) Carlson. He married Lucille E. Algoe, May 1, 1937, in Sterling, Illinois. She died May 1, 1939. Mr. Carlson farmed in the La Porte City area until 1945, then he and his father operated a feed store for a short time. He retired from the Black Hawk County Maintenance Department. He is survived by a daughter, Peggy A. McBride of La Port City; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A brother, Fredrick, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at the Haisman Funeral Home in La Port City with graveside services at the Corydon Cemetery in Corydon.
