Brown, Isis B. (Sharp), daughter of J. J. and Naomi Sharp was born in Wayne County, Iowa, February 27, 1884. She spent the early part of her life in the neighborhood of Promise City. At an early age she was united in marriage to Thompson L. Heskett. To this union were born 2 children. Her husband departed this life in 1901. She later married James H. Brown. To this union were born 4 children, one daughter and 3 sons. One son, Elmo, preceded her in death. She lived the past 20 years in Des Moines where she was a member of the Gatche Methodist Church. She leaves to mourn her passing 5 children: Clarence L. Heskett, Thompson L. Heskett, Bernard M. Brown, Hollis J. Brown, all of Des Moines and Mrs. M. J. Mandernach, of Chicago, Illinois, 5 grandchildren, 3 sisters and other relatives. Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 19, 1942, in the Methodist Church at Promise City conducted by Rev. H. B. Fry. Burial was in the Promise City Cemetery, by Ruby of Seymour.
