Mrs. Myrtle Fowler

Mrs. Myrtle Fowler, 90, originally from Columbus Junction, died at 9 a.m. Friday, November 8, in the Washington Care Center

The daughter of Frank and Adeline Williams Walker, she was born in Des Moines county on March 27, 1884. She attended Iowa Wesleyan college and married Reverend William J. Fowler in Burlington on September 9, 1908. She was a member of the United Methodist church, Columbus Junction, and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving: Four daughters, Mrs. Carl (Wilma) Benz, Gaithersburg, Maryland; Mrs. Robert (Frances) Mayberry, Omaha, Nebraska; Mrs. Raymond (Genevieve) Schlicher, Cedar Falls, and Mrs. William (Marian) McGinnis, Columbus Junction; son, William Franklin Fowler, Ft Lauderdale, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. E. F. Edel, Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. Fay O’Brien, Mattoon, Illinois; 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 11, United Methodist church, Columbus Junction; Reverend Paul Hasel; Columbus City cemetery.
