To all whom it may Concern:

Know ye, That William Houk a Private of Captain James S. Porter Company, (D,) 15th Regiment
of Iowa Infantry VOLUNTEERS who was enrolled on the 20th day of February one thousand
eight hundred and 62 to serve 3 years or during the war, is hereby Discharged from the
service of the United States, this 20th day of February, 1864, at Vicksburg, Mississippi
by reason of Reenlistment as a Veteran Volunteer under the provision of General Order
No: 191 Se_ies 1863, War Department.

(No objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exist.)

Said William Houk was born in Boon County, in the State of Indiana, is 22 years of age,
5 feet 5 inches high, dark complexion, Black eyes, Dark hair, and by occupation, when
enrolled, a Farmer.

Given at Vicksburg, Mississippi this Twentieth day of February, 1864.

2ND DISCHARGE AFTER REENLISTMENT
To all whom it may Concern:

Know ye, That William Houk a corporal of Captain William Fairburn's Company, (D),
15th Regiment of Iowa Infantry, VOLUNTEERS who was enrolled on the 20th day of February
one thousand eight hundred and sixty four to serve three years or during the war, is
hereby Discharged from the service of the United States, this 24th day of July, 1865
at Near Louisville, Kentucky by reason of Genl orders No: 26 to serve with the Army of
the Tennessee.

(No objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exist.)

Said William Houk was born in Boon County, in the State of Indiana, is 22 years of age,
5 feet 5 inches high, dark complexion, Black eyes, Dark hair, and by occupation, when
enrolled, a Farmer.

Given at Near Louisville, Kentucky this 24th day of July 1865.

WILLIAM HOUK'S PENSIONS

Notice of Issue, Department of the Interior, Bureau of Pensions Sept. 20, 1888
Sir,
You are herby notified that a certificate, No. 408.657, for owing pension has this day
been issued in favor of William, Houk, Ormanville, Wapello Co. Iowa and that the pension
is payable by the Pension Agent of Des Moines who will also pay to you the fee of $10.
Rate of pension $2 per month from July 3, 1885 for Chronic Diarrhea.

PENSION INCREASE 1897
No. 408.657 Increase, United States of America, Department of the Interior, Bureau of
Pensions
It is hereby certified That in conformity with the laws of the United States William Houk
who was Private Co. D, 15th Regiment Iowa Infantry is entitled to a pension at the rate of
Fourteen dollars per month to commence on the seventeenth day of July one thousand eight
hundred and ninety seven. This pension being for: Chronic diarrhea and resulting piles,
rheumatism, and resulting disease of heart.

Given at the Department of the Interior this seventeenth day of March one thousand eight
hundred and ninety nine and of the Independence of the United States of America the one
hundred and twenty United.
