Returns as From Dead
Des Moines, June 1. - A remarkable tale of the return of a lost boy comes from Ottumwa. After being gone for seven years, with his parents believing him dead, Jacob Webb has returned to his home with a tale that smacks of an “Arabian Night” fairy story. Jacob was 14 years old when he went fishing with a crowd of boys his age and never returned. His foster mother believed he had been drowned and after searching for some time gave him up with this idea. The crowd of boys he was with returned home, but none of them were ever able to give an intelligent account of what became of Jacob. He was 14 years old at the time and strayed away to see the world. He says he was ashamed to return, but finally did so, much to the joy of his mother.
