Alice M. Megrath

Alice M. Megrath, daughter of William Leslie and Maude Murdock Epperly, was born July 24, 1915, at Milton and departed this life early the morning of Sunday, May 30, 1993, at Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua, at the age of 77.

She married Herbert Dee Megrath August 16, 1961. He died May 28, 1985.

Allice united with the Presbyterian Church in Milton at the age of 12 and later moved her membership to Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was a member of Lynds Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Keosauqua, and had been a Sunday School teacher in the Cantril United Methodist Church for a number of years. She worked at State Savings Bank, Cantril for 21 years.

Remaining to cherish her memory are four sons, Larry Hetzler and his wife, Helen, Plattsmouth, Nebraska, Donald Hetzler and his wife, DeEtta, Hazen, North Dakota, Ronald Hetzler and his wife, Suzanne, Madison, Wisconsin, and James Hetzler and his wife, Diane, Ottumwa, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a brother, Walter Epperly, Milton, a number of nieces (ad) nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Leslie, Elmer and Harold Epperly and 4 grandsons.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 1, 1993 at 10 a.m. in the Lebanon United Methodist Church, Rev. Michael Druhl officiating. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery.

A memorial was established for the Lebanon United Methodist Church.

Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
