Evalyn N. Sheppard

Evalyn N. Shepperd, age 72, 4611 Ave. L., Ft. Madison, Iowa, died at 7 a.m. Saturday, Jan/ 17, 1987 at her home. Death was unexpected.

Born Feb. 13, 1914 at Montrose, Iowa, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Holmes and Leafo Phillips Holmes. She lived in Davis and Van Buren Counties from 1955-1983, then moved to Ft. Madison.

She was employed at W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co., IAAP for several years. She operated the Town & Country Truck Stop in Milton, 1970-74. She was married Nov. 21, 1931 at Ft. Madison to Virgil L. Shepperd.

She is survived by her husband, along with one brother, Lloyd Holmes of Montrose, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Cloyd Holmes and one sister, Juanita Fowler.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 19, 1987 at 1:30 p.m. at Barr Memorial Chapel in Ft. Madison. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Ft. Madison, Rev. Charles Kamelos, officiating. Memorials have been established for the Heart and Diabetes Assn.
