HARRIETT SCHINDLER

Harriett Bell Schindler, Milton, widow of John Schindler, died Sunday evening, March 7, 1976, at the Davis County Hospital after a short illness.

Daughter of Jess and Amy Bell, she was born at Milton, Iowa, on February 5, 1906, and was graduated from the Milton Public School. She attended Western State University, Macomb, Illinois and the University of Northern Iowa.

She taught for many years in the rural schools of Davis and Van Buren Counties and later in the Milton elementary school.

She was a member of PEO and the First United Methodist Church of Milton.

Harriett Bell Schindler is survived by a brother, Thomas F. Bell, and a sister, Mrs. Howard Schley, both of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; nephews, Thomas D. Bell, New Richmond, Wisc.; Richard Bell, Ripon, Wisconsin; and a niece, Mrs. Thomas Vilsack of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, March 10, 1976 with Rev. Herbert DeMello in charge. Interment was in the Sunnyside Cemetery of Milton, Iowa. Wellborn Funeral Home (in charge of the services.)
