Albert R. Norman

Albert R. "Noisy" Norman passed away October 13, 1960 at the Davis County Hospital, Bloomfield, Iowa. He was the son of Swedish immigrants, Erland and Mathilda Norman, born March 8, 1886 at Mediapolis and Washington, Ia.; and at Highland Park, Illinois. In 1910 he was graduated from the Babcock Institute of Pharmacy in Des Moines, and on June 10th became a registered Pharmacist. In June of this year he was honored by the State Board of Pharmacy and Governor Loveless of Iowa for his 50 years of service as a Pharmacist.

On December 10, 1910 he purchased the Dr. L.F. Summers Drug Store in Milton. From then until his death he continued to serve the Milton community.

On December 25, 1911 he was united in marriage to Catherine Hayes of Milton, who preceded him in death in 1932. To this union was born one son, William Richard. On June 18, 1939 he was married to Caddie Hoskins.

He was a member of the Grace Methodist church of Milton, Ia.; a former member of the Masonic Lodge; a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge and the Pythian Sisters in Milton.

Surviving are his widow, Caddie; his son, Richard, daughter-in-law, Eleanor, and grandson, Dick, of Jefferson City, Missouri; two brothers, Oscar Norman and Alvin Norman, both of Chicago, Illinois; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Grace Methodist church in Milton on Saturday, October 15, 1960 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Interment was in Sunnyside cemetery in Milton. The Wellborn Funeral Home was in charge of the service.
