MRS. M. B. LARSON

Christine Studsvik Larson was born in Studsvik, Norway, Sept. 15, 1853, of the parents Johannes Jenson Studsvik and wife Chritine. She came to America in July 1869, and settled in Clinton county, Iowa. Here she was confirmed, and the following year married to Mikkel B. Larson on the 20th of May, 1872. She moved from Clinton county to same year, and came with her husband to Story county, Iowa, and they lived on a farm five miles south of Story City until 1911, when they moved to Story City. Here they have made their home since.

She died on the 27th of February of this year, having lingered several days following a paralytic stroke. Her church affiliation has always been with the Norwegian Lutheran church. The funeral was held on March 1st, from the St. Petri church, Rev. Walter B. Scarvie officiating.

Three brothers survive her, John and Andrew of Story City and Johannes of Ihlen, Minn. Of twelve children, six are living: John of Elmore, Minn., Mrs. Josie Jacobson of Gilbert, Mrs. Julia Boyd of Story City, Mrs. Angie Hoversten of Roland, Mrs. Jennie Olson of Calamus, and Curnie of Story City. One son, Torenius, died in August, 1915, and a daughter, Anna, died in March, 1924. The other four died in infancy. There are surviving her thirty-four grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Those who donated money for charitable purposes rather than flowers in her memory are: Mr. and Mrs. Andrew S. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. John S. Johnson, Johannes S. Johnson, Andrew Anderson, Jenora Olson. A sum of $15.00 was given by these for this purpose.

Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Larson and Elizabeth of Elmore, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Waltin Olson and children and Miss Bertha Olson of Calamus, Miss Jenora Jacobson and Miss Beatrice Johnson of Des Moines, Andrew Anderson of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. Lew Enes and Mrs. Lewis Roe of Ames, Mr. Jacob Westre of Eagle Grove and Mr. and Mrs. G. Blink of Nevada.
