Omon Enderson

Omon Enderson, whose parents were Mr. and Mrs. Endre Omondson, Dormersnes, was born at Vikebygd, Norway, October 22, 1857, and died at the Webster City hospital October 10th, 1926, at the age of 69 years.

In 1886 he was united in marriage to Miss Balinda Jacobson. They left Norway the same year and came to New Sharon, Iowa. After a short stay here they moved to a farm near Jewell, Iowa. Then to the Enerson homestead near Stanhope where they lived for many years until they moved into Story City in 1918.

Mr. Enderson ha not been so well the last few years. He at last decided to seek help in Webster City where he underwent two operation with the result as above stated.

It was unexpected for the most of us that he should so soon leave us. We had hope that he would recover, but he himself seemed reconciled to the fact that his days were numbered--and so they were. Mr. Enderson belonged to the Clear Lake and Ellsworth church for many years, where he was an active member. Since he came to Story City he has been a faithful member of the Bethel Lutheran church in whose midst he will be missed very much.

Mr. Enderson has lived a good Christian life for many years and he was not afraid to meet God. It is great consolation to his dear family and to us all that we are fully assured that he is home with his heavenly Father and his Savior whom he loved so much.

Mr. Enderson was the father of eleven children of which two died while small. Those who survive him are, his wife and nine children: Mrs. Isabel Madson, Stanhope; Andrew Enderson, Stanhope; Mrs. Bertha Hanson, Stratford; Thomas Enderson, Stanhope; Mrs. Ovedia Berglund, Stratford; Mrs. Sara Paulson, Story City; Mrs. Julia Swenson, Story City, and Jacob and Isaac Enderson, students at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn.; also three brothers and two sisters and twenty-one grandchildren.

He was buried from the Bethel church Wednesday, October 13. The pallbearers were: Joel Hanson, Ole Brekke, Andrew Okland, Iver Okland, John Heggen and Isaac Hope. A very large number was there to pay the last respect to this faithful father and churchman. Rev. G. O. Paulsrud was in charge assisted by Revs. T. T. Heimarck and H. Oppedal.
