Ferdinand J. Wilken Funeral services for Ferdinand Wilken, 87, of Wall Lake were held Wednesday, January 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. Rev. Roger P. Carlisle and Rev. Reynold Petersen officiated.

Music was provided by congregational singing and a quartet of Jack Stickrod, Leland Weitzel, Mrs. Don Becker, and Mrs. Jack Nuetzman. They were accompanied by Roland Erickson. On the flower committee was Mrs. Orville Franck, Mrs. Marvin Dreessen, and Mrs. Leland Weitzel.

Attendants were David Wilken, Duane Miller, James Keefe, Jr., Charles Wilken, Bill Wilken, and Russell Shewmaker. Burial was the the-Wall Lake Cemetery. Farber and Otteman Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ferdinand was born July 21, 1896, in Sac County to Henry and Pauline Schmidt Wilken. On December 20, 1922, he married Edna Ida Gosch at Wall Lake. He was a retired farmer and moved to Twilight Acres five years ago from his farm near Odebolt where he had resided since his marriage. He died Sunday, January 8, 1984, at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake.

Preceding him in death were his wife, two brothers, Fredrick and Virtus; one sister, Hilda Kallsen; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.

He is survived by two sons, Russell of Odebolt and Paul of Mora, MO; one daughter, Joan Petersen of Garner; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Katherine Wilken and Mrs. Alma Herrig both of Wall Lake and Luella Lange of Charles City.
