CHARMION MOSIER

Charmion Mary Mosier, daughter of Joseph and Mildred (Moffitt) Mosier was born August 5, 1918 at Mount Ayr, Iowa. She died September 7, 1985 at her home at the age of 67 years, one month and two days.

At a very young age she developed rheumatoid arthritis which left her severely physically handicapped for the rest of her life.

Charmion as able to finish her elementary education at the country school during periods of remission and the tutoring of her mother while she was recovery from frequent corrective surgery at the hospital. She was able to complete two years of secondary education at Mount Ayr High School, however, she continued to enrich her mind by intensive reading of a wide variety of subjects.

Charmion occupied her time creating small artistic craft items which she enjoyed sharing with family and friends. She looked forward to the visits of friends and relatives, and especially enjoyed seeing the little children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Wallace Arlo Mosier of Colby, Kansas.

Surviving are two brothers, Eugene Mosier and wife Selma of Mount Ayr, Iowa and Franklin Mosier and wife Diane of Fresno, California; a sister in law Muriel Mosier of Colby, Kansas; four nephews, Joseph Mosier and wife Diane of Amarillo, Texas, Thomas Mosier and wife Cheryl of Abilene, Kansas, and Eugene Y. Mosier of New York City; three nieces, Margaret Torrin and husband Darryl of Gilmore City, Iowa, LuAnn Mosier of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Jennifer Mosier of Fresno, California; and many cousins and friends.

Services were held September 10, 1985 from the Wilson-Watson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, with Rev. Paul Carter officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Paul Carter, Mrs. Gary Bickers and Mrs. Roger Trullinger.

Casket bearers were Rex Shaha, Vivian Wells, Kenneth Shields, Cecil Davenport, Vernon McGahuey and Richard Saltzman. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr, Iowa.
