MARSHALL "WOODY" GIBSON
November 1921 - September 13, 2004

Marshall "Woody" Gibson, 82, died Monday, September 13, at home in Slater, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 15, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater with burial in the Slater Municipal Cemetery.

Woody was born November 19, 1921 at the Gibson farm outside of Kellerton, Iowa. He married Edna Mae Greenman in 1938. He was a farmer prior to moving to the Slater and Alleman, Iowa area. He worked in Des Moines at Western Tool/AMF until he retired. He enjoyed gardening, weekend farming at their farm in southern Iowa and most of all, spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Edna, Sister in law Doris Gibson of Kellerton, Iowa; six children Myrna Harmon (Darrell), Marcia Millang (Don), Gary Gibson (Carol), Elaine Raines (Max), Rich Gibson (LuAnn) and Mike Gibson (Joyce); 16 grandchildren: Chip Harmon, Kris Sheehan (Pat), Steven Millang (Paulette), Paul Millang (Jennifer), Dona Dodd (Tom), Darla Millang, Laura Begg (Jim), Lisa Wheeler (Roger), John Gibson (Danielle), Holly Christiansen (Jim), Melody Moyer (Brad), Joe Gibson, Amy Gibson, Jennifer Gibson, Sarah Gibson and Ben Gibson. 23 Great grandchildren, Derek and Danielle Harmon, Brandon and Jill Sheehan, Teresa, Josh and Katie Millang, Tony, Dylan, Brianna Millang, Bailey and Sophie Dodd, Jake Millang, Annah and Zack Begg, Nic, Jessie and Noah Wheeler, Brianna, Chloe and Emma Gibson, Taylor and Aubrey Christiansen, Jordan and Savannah Moyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Nellie Gibson, two brothers, Chet and Leo; one granddaughter, Rosann Harmon, and one daughter in law Karen Gibson.

Soderstrum Rits Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
