OBITUARY

George Hubert FERGUSON, son of Hugh FERGUSON and Birdie APPLETON FERGUSON, was born May 22, 1906, near Clearfield, Iowa, and passed away December 5, 1959, in Tingley, at the age of 53 years, 6 months and 13 days.

When a child, his parents moved to the vicinity of Tingley, in which community he spent the remainder of his life.

At an early age he united with the United Presbyterian Church and remained a faithful and active member throughout his entire life. He served as an elder in the church for a number of years before his death.

On April 12, 1933, he was united in marriage with Helen Iola GARLAND and to this union were born two daughters, Donna (Mrs. Roger MORRISON), and Gay Lou, and three sons, Darl, Hugh and Gary. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and will be sadly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Left to mourn his passing are his widow, Iola; his children; a son-in-law, Roger MORRISON; two grandchildren, Johnnie and Becky MORRISON; his mother, Mrs. Birdie FERGUSON, of Tingley; one sister, Mrs. Bryce WHISLER, of Rockaway, Ore., a brother, Ira, of Tingley; a number of relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held December 8, from the United Presbyterian Church in Tingley, conducted by the Reverends Charles WILSON and Willis GRANT. Interment was in the Tingley cemetery.

Relatives from out-of-town who attended the services were Mrs. Taylor FERGUSON, of Oskaloosa; Mrs. and Mrs. Wendell FERGUSON, of Ottumwa; Mr. and Mrs. Frank WRIGHT, of Fort Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Dean GARLAND, LeRoy ALEXANDER, Mrs. Maxine THOMPSON, Mr. and Mrs. Richard GARLAND, of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Truman GARLAND and family and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley GARLAND, of Kansas City, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd BURGETT, of Dallas; Mr. and Mrs. Chris WALTER and family of Beaconsfield; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil DAY, of Menlo, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard RICE, of Mount Ayr.
