Ruth Maxine (Force) Gundelfinger, 95, of Ventura, California passed away at home on June 29, 2022 in the loving arms of her family. Ruth was born in Bear Creek Township, Poweshiek County, Iowa to Cecil Earl and Zilla (Fullerton) Force on May 30, 1927. She graduated from Brooklyn high school in 1945 and went on to attend the Cadet Nurse Corps where she met her loving husband, Bill. They were married July 15, 1946. She and Bill live in Clinton, Iowa until moving to Southern California in 1955. Ruth held several part-time jobs while raising her children and was proud of her career as a materials planner for Northrup Corporation. After retiring she enjoyed traveling, crocheting baby blankets for all of her great-grandchildren, texting her sisters, reading, playing Solitaire and Bunco with her friends at La Posada Mobile Home Park. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Assumption 6:30 AM daily mass group, the Women's Altar Society, and the Eucharistic Adoration group.

Ruth is survived by her children, Thomas (Jennifer) of Juneau, Alaska, William (Lanna) of Simi Valley, CA, Margaret Baron of Scott's Valley, CA, Charles (Melody) of Santee, CA and Mimi Leza (Armando) of Ventura, CA; sisters, Kay Brooks and Mary Schabaker; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Albert (Bill); parents Earl and Zilla Force; sisters, Marie, Delores, and brother, John. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Assumption building fund, 3175 Telegraph Rd, Ventura, CA 93003 or to Tunnel to Towers foundation at t2t.org.

A vigil will be held Thursday, July 14 at 5:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 3175 Telegraph Rd, Ventura, CA. The Funeral Service will be held July 15th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 757 E. Main St., Ventura, California.
