Clorida Ferguson, 87, died January 2, 2014 at Calvin Community. She was born in Iowa Falls, March 19, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Anna Ferguson, and grew up in Marshalltown where she graduated from high school. Following graduation from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree in 1948, she worked and lived in Chicago, Cedar Rapids and Denver before moving to Des Moines in 1956. After 27 years working as a Vocational Evaluator for the State of Iowa, she retired in 1992.

Clorida enjoyed travel, theater, art, books, following the Hawkeyes and Cubs and most of all her friends.

Clorida is survived by several cousins, their families and many friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

At her request, there will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded and private burial will be at the Crane Creek Cemetery (Near Jerico) in Chickasaw County, Iowa.
