Burial at College Springs

Funeral services for Georgia Lois Lair, 86, were held this Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Jennings Chapel at Shenandoah. Burial was in the College Springs Cemetery. She died March 27, 1986, at the Bethesda Care Center where she had been a resident the last three years.

She was born in Page County on Dec. 29, 1899, daughter of Robert and Letha (Spencer) Gell. She lived around the Northboro area most of her life, graduating from Northboro High School. After graduation she continued her education, later teaching for two years in a country school near Fairfax, Mo.

In 1920 she married Otis Lair in Colorado, where they lived for a short time before moving back to the Northboro area. They had one daughter, Barbara. She was a member of the Northboro United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Barbara) Bloom of Braddyville; one grandson, Lynn Bloom of Clarinda, and one granddaughter, Mrs. Shirley Mondero of Clarinda. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Blanch Black of Atlanta, Mo; six great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, one sister and one brother.

The family requests any memorial contributions go to Bethesda Care Center of Clarinda.
