Funeral services for Leroy Fred Schneider, 83, West Liberty, were held March 13, 1997 at the West Liberty Chapel of the Barker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery, West Liberty.

Mr. Schneider died March 10 at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

The son of Fred and Minnie DeMuth Schneider, he was born Jan. 8, 1914 in Cedar county. He graduated from West Liberty high school in 1932. He married Virginia Bennett Oct. 9, 1937 in Muscatine.

Mr. Schneider farmed north of West Liberty his entire life.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Sam and wife, Mary Schneider, West Liberty; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alma Heick, West Liberty. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters, and a granddaughter.
