Funeral services for Clyde E. Hudecek, 87, West Liberty, were held Feb. 15, 1997 at the West Liberty United Methodist church, with the Rev. Frank Schultz officiating. Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery.

Mr. Hudecek died Feb. 12 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City.

The son of Ben and Josie Tuma Hudecek, he was born Sept. 9, 1909 in Thompson, Neb. He married Caroline Goebel Dec 23, 1932 in Nebraska. The couple moved to Iowa in 1941 and farmed until 1969.

Mr. Hudecek farmed all of his life in Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa. He also worked at the ASCS office in Muscatine for 5 years.

Mr. Hudecek is survived by his wife; 2 daughters, Anita Dowler-Kumm and husband Lyle, Omaha, Neb.; and Gayla and husband Tom Lukas, Tucson, Ariz.; a son, Lynn and wife Polly, Cedar Rapids; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
