Edward J. Boland was born Nov. 12, 1900, at Otley, Ia., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Boland, and grew up in Pella.
He was fatally injured in a train-truck collision near Albia May 5, 1958. He was associated with the Monroe county roads department, and was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother.
Survivors are his wife, Bertha; his mother; a daughter, Mrs. Catherine Murrow, a son, Earl Boland, and eight step-children, Mrs. Dale Sonnenburg of Albia, Mrs. Eloise Holland of Chicago, Joe Mart (sic), jr., of Des Moines, Mrs. Lorene Walker of Mystic, Jerry Don Martin of Fountin, Colo., Bobby Dean Martin of Chicago and Dick and Gary Martin, at home.
Funeral services were May 8 at First Christian church, conducted by the Rev. Daniel C. Kechel, pastor, and burial was in Oak View cemetery.
