Funeral services for Bert Bernstein, 71, of Gatzke, Minn., who died at a hospital in Kansas City, No., Friday, August 3, were held in Gatzke on Tuesday, August 7.

Mr. Bernstein, who had been engaged in farming most of his life, was well known here having been a former resident of Carpenter before moving to Minnesota several years ago.

He underwent major surgery in July but suffered a relapse last Wednesday and died Friday.

Mr. Bernstein is survived by three sons, Glenn, of St. Paul, Minn., Roy, of Souris, N.Dak.; William of Gatzke, Minn., and a daughter, Mrs. Glenn Evans of Thief River Falls; also two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Nelson and Mrs. Adolf Mueller, both of St. Ansgar, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death only five months ago.

Burial was in Holt, Minn.
