George Archibalt Fee, second son of G. W. and Mary E. Fee, was born in Marion county, northwest of Knoxville, on a farm, February 1, 1872, and died at Vancouver, Wash., at the age of 74 years, 7 months and 16 days. The deceased was stricken with pneumonia the later part of May and was taken to the Vancouver hospital at Vancouver, Wash., where he was seriously ill for several weeks. He suffered a relapse the week of September 14 and died Tuesday, September 17, 1946.
The deceased was married to Jessie Stoops, February 14, 1911, and the following year February 18, 1912, she died giving birth to a son.
Brokenhearted, several years later, the deceased drifted to Washongal, Wash., where he lived some thirty years.
All through his life he was a faithful attendant of church services, and lived up to the teachings of his master. He was an honest upright citizen, that was loved and respected by all who knew him.
For many years, and through the war years, he worked at the woolen mill at Washongal, in an untiring effort to help with his service while the younger men served overseas. The woolen mill made the cloth for the army and navy uniforms.
The deceased is survived by two brothers and one sister, Charles L., of Knoxville, J. Harold, of Raymond, Wash., and Mrs. Lillie B. Graves of Knoxville, also several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted from the M. E. church in Washongal, and services were conducted from the Bybee & Davis funeral home in Knoxville, Friday, at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Marvin Pigg officiating.
Burial was made in the Graceland cemetery beside his beloved wife and baby.
