Clarence Walter Davis, son of Ingle and Matilda Davis, was born at Marysville, October 5, 1879, and died at his home in Knoxville, Thursday morning, September 2, 1948, at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 27 days.
The deceased was united in marriage to Addie Stoops, October 17, 1898, and to this union eight children were born, Beryl, Clarence, Harold, Edith (now deceased), Leona, Opal, Sylvia and Iona.
Mr. Davis is survived by his widow, seven children, twenty-eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, and one brother, Lawrence Davis, of Manchester, and two sisters, Mrs. John Johnston, of Milo, and Mrs. Casey Bollen, of Torrington, Wyo. Two brothers, Ora and Edgar, preceded him in death.
The surviving children are Mrs. Beryl Kreimeyer, Mrs. Louis Dainty, Mrs. Casey Zoutte and Harold Davis, of Knoxville; Clarence Davis, of Highland Park, Ill.; Mrs. Max Lurz, of Sloat, Calif., and Mrs. Roy Ehlers, of Fairbury, Nebr.
Funeral service were held from the Bybee & Davis funeral home, Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. R. D Norris, and burial was made in the Greenwood cemetery, north of Knoxville.
