William Stoops, a former resident of Marion county, died at his home in Portland, Oreg., Jan. 29, aged about 72 years.
Deceased was a son of the late Wesley Stoops and resided in the Burr Oak neighborhood. In 1875 he removed to Washougal, Wash. A few years ago he came back to Knoxville and married Mrs. Hattie Cloe, a daughter of the late Dr. Allen; and after their return to Washington they removed to Portland.
Mr. Stoops had suffered with leakage of the heart for a year or two preceding his death.
