Life Story of Harriet Ann Kamerick
Harriet Ann Whaley Kamerick, daughter of John and Ellen Whaley, was born in Clay township, Marion county on May 19, 1881, and died Oct. 1, 1952, at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 12 days in Collins Memorial Hospital, Knoxville.
Mrs. Kamerick was united in marriage to John Kamerick, March 15, 1899, and to this union two children were born: John M. Kamerick, Knoxville; and Mrs. Park O. DeWitt, Chicago, Ill.
Mrs. Kamerick was active in church as well as club work. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Knoxville for the past 45 years. She gave faithfully of her time to its activities and enjoyed its services. She was also active in the Rebekah Lodge and the Order of Eastern Star as well as other organizations in this community.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John, April 14, 1931, and her father, John Whaley. Surviving are her mother, Mrs. John Whaley, Knoxville; her sister, Mrs. Sylvia Gregory of Hampton; two brothers, John L. Whaley, Knoxville; and Floyd F. Whaley, Milwaukee, Wis.; two grandchildren, Miss Dorothy Kamerick, Chicago, Ill., and John O. Kamerick, Knoxville. She is also survived by other relatives as well as a host of friends who have known and loved her.
