Oscar Wilson Whaley, son of Wilson S. Whaley and Mary Armstrong Whaley, died at his home in Long Beach, Calif., November 8.
The deceased was born near Durham, November 7, 1868. He was raised to young manhood in this vicinity and was the last of a large family. He leaves his widow, Libby, and son, Paul, of San Francisco, with whom the wife will now make her home. Burial was at Palo Alto, Calif.
Source: unknownHarvey, August 20: During the past week the ashes of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Whaley were interred in the Eureka cemetery. The container was sent by Express from California to E. E. Larew, caretaker of the cemetery. The burial was on the parental Wilson Whaley lot, a stone already having been placed. A nephew, Wilson Whaley, of Deep River, and Mr. Larew, a relative took care of all arrangements. Mr. Whaley died about a year ago and Mrs. Whaley just recently. Oscar was raised on his father’s farm in the Eureka neighborhood.
