Mary Ann Hopper was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, Oct., 19th, 1839, and died of heart failure at her home in Derby, Iowa, July 9th, 1915. Age 76 years, 9 months and 20 days.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Bowdle of Ross county, Ohio, on Oct. 24, 1867. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, one son, Charles, and one daughter, Mrs. Naomi Finley of Rupert, Ideaho, and six grandchildren, Raymond, Faye, Clifford and Nina Sutton, and Rothmere and Mildred Finley, one son and daughter having proceded her to that better land.

When quite young, she was converted and united with the Baptist church and after her marriage united with the Methodist Episcopal church. She lived a consistent Christian life and had great joy in all the church services. The call of Christ to her eternal reward has been received and she has entered into the joy of her Lord.
