Mrs. Florence Giles

Florence Van Sickle was born Jan. 8th, 1856 in Chariton, where she grew to womanhood. She was married in 1878 to Charles Dellermen, who died several years ago. Two sons were born, Ernest and Van. Ernest died March 11th, 1904. She was married in January 1902 to Geo. Giles, of Watertown, Wis., who with the son and one sister, Mrs. Kate Gleason, of Des Moines, survive her. She was a member of the Methodist church, and was held in the highest esteem by those who knew her for many noble traits of character. She met death accidentally, being killed by a train Friday, March 22, at Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she had been the past eight months taking treatment for rheumatic trouble.

The remains were brought to this city Wednesday and funeral services were held from the Methodist church this afternooon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Hohanshelt and interment made in Chariton Cemetery.
