Abner G. Marshall was born in Cannonburg, Washington county, Penn., Feb. 22, 1833 and died at his home in Russell, Iowa, March 19, 1912, aged 78 years, 10 months and 22 days. He came to Iowa in 1855, remaining one summer. Returning to Pennsylvania he was married to Lovina Murray, Feb. 26, 1857. He came to Russell in 1873. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, three sons, W. J. of this city, Elmer E. of Kansas City, and E. A. and Anna Boyd of Russell, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church Friday at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Geo. W. Wood, and attended by a large circle of friends. Music was furnished by a male quartette. The floral tributes were profuse and beautiful. Interment was made in Russell cemetery.
