Pleasant Hill - Death has once more visited our community and taken as its victim, Mr. Samuel Harkness. He leaves a wife and one brother, Gideon Harkness, and one sister, Mrs. Lydia Kerr of near Washington. The sorrowing ones have the sympathy of the people of the community in their sad bereavement. Rev. T. B. Devore conducted the funeral services at Union Chapel on Thursday at 2 o'clock and the remains were laid to rest in the Tennessee graveyard. Samuel Harkness was born in the state of New York and was married to Julia A. Graham Jan. 26, 1876. He died May 23, 1900, at the age of 66 years, 10 months and 24 days.
