Page 2Grandma Coleman's remains were brought here for burial last week. She having died of paralysis at her daughter's in Oskaloosa Dec. 12th. Deceased was eighty-two years of age. Elder Isaac Whistler who immigrated to this county at the same time from Ohio preached the funeral at the M. E. church at 11 a. m. Dec. 15th, 1888. Her residence here for so long a time gave her a very extended circle of acquaintances, who only needed to know her, to love and esteem her for her christian and sociable qualities. She leaves five children to mourn her loss, two, Dewitt Maxson and Mrs. Lew Whisler being residents here.
