Nellie E. LEMLEY, born September 24, 1946, passed away peacefully at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield on May 7, 2026.

She was a woman with a warm heart, a stubborn spark, and a gift for making people feel welcome the moment they walked through her door.

She was the loving mother of David LEMLEY, Dan (Karen) LEMLEY and Jeff (Cara) LEMLEY, grandmother of Daniela (Sean) LUNDE, Beth (Troy) BOWMAN, Jen LEMLEY, Collin (Amanda) LEMLEY, Cody (Julia) LEMLEY and Nicole LEMLEY, and great-grandmother of eight.

Dennis COOP is Nellie's last surviving sibling.

Nellie loved animals, especially cats. She enjoyed garage sales, auctions, and finding small treasures she proudly displayed in her curio cabinets. Nellie worked at Chain and Cable in Fairfield, where she made close friends and memories she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oris and Beulah COOP, three brothers and two sisters.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 16 from 3-5 p.m. at Chautauqua Park, Shelter #4 in Fairfield, IA.

Nellie will be remembered for her kindness, her honesty, her humor and the steady love she gave so freely.
