EldonMabel "Mickey" Irene LUNSFORD, 81, passed away peacefully at home, on April 21, 2026, surrounded by family. She leaves behind a life rich in devotion, hard work, and deep love for those she cherished most.
Mickey was born in Selma, Iowa, to her parents, Lester and Sarah LAUGHLIN on December 1, 1944. From a young age, she embodied a strong work ethic and a caring spirit--qualities that would define her life. She dedicated 21 years of her career to Louden's Division of ACCO in Fairfield, Iowa, where she was a valued and dependable employee until her well-earned retirement.
In 1977, Mickey met the love of her life, Joseph "Bill" LUNSFORD. The two were married on July 23, 1977, beginning a partnership built on love, companionship, ad shared joys. Together, Mickey and Bill created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter and togetherness. They enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with family--moments that Mickey treasured deeply.
Mickey had a true passion for homemaking. She was an exceptional cook, known for meals that brought family together and made everyone feel at home. She took great pride in her garden and lovingly canned hundreds of jars of vegetables each year, a labor of love that reflected her generosity and care for others. These simple, beautiful traditions became lasting memories for those lucky enough to share in them.
She was a wonderful wife and mother, deeply loved by her husband and family. Mickey especially enjoyed time spent in South Padre Island, a place that brought her peace, sunshine, and happiness.
Mickey is survived by her loving husband, Joseph "Bill" LUNSFORD; her sister, Esther (Larry) CROW; and a large, cherished family.
