MRS. KELER (sic), 78, DIES SUDDENLY
Summoned at Hospital After Slight Injury On Dec. 23rd

Mrs. Philmen KELLER, widow of August KELLER died last night at the Jefferson county hospital at 6:30. Mrs. KELLER died very suddenly at the hospital having been taken there on December 23rd 1933, suffering a broken hip. She was born May 24, 1855, and had been a resident of Fairfield for 33 years. Her husband preceded her in death, July 19, 1930.

She is survived by the following children, Mrs. Emma MITCHELL, of Davenport, Louis KELLER of Ottumwa, Charles Arthur, and Mrs. Velma WITSE (sic - WILTSE), all of Fairfield.

She also leaves 19 grandchildren, 12 great grand children one brother Louis DROZ of Nebraska, and a sister, Mrs. Lida CA__Y, of Minneapolis. The body was taken to the Hoskins funeral home in Fairfield.

The funeral services for Mrs. KELLER will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, from the Hoskins Funeral Home, in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

KELLER Funeral Is Held Sunday At Hoskins Home Here

A large number of friends and relatives were present yesterday at the Hoskins Funeral Home in Fairfield to attend the funeral services for Mrs. August KELLER, better known as Aunt Philamon KELLER. She died Thursday night at the Jefferson county hospital.

Rev. S. P. Williamson had charge of the services and paid a very fitting tribute to Mrs. KELLER. The songs used at the service were "Abide With Me," "Rock of Ages," and "Faith Evermore," sung by Mrs. N. Switzer and Mrs. S. P. Williamson, with Miss Reva Patten, accompanist.

The pall bearers were her grandsons, and there were many beautiful flowers for the services. She was buried in Evergreen cemetery beside her husband. Relatives from Eldon, Ottumwa and Davenport attended the rites.

Note: Buried in Lot 2nd.089 with husband August. Her birth year on her gravestone is 1856, and appears to be a goof. Both her obituary and Death Certificate give the year as 1855.
