MRS. CUMMINGS DIED SUDDENLY
Last Evening of Heart Failure at Her Home, 302 South Court Street

Mrs. Ella N. CUMMINGS who has been in ill health for several months, passed away quite suddenly of heart failure last evening about 7:30 o'clock at her home 302 South Court street.

Complete funeral arrangements have not been made at this time.

Mrs. CUMMINGS was formerly Miss Ella N. McCLURE and she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William McCLURE. She was born at Northfield, Iowa, April 3, 1854. She was married in early life to J. N. IRWIN (sic - James Clifton IRWIN), who passed away many years ago. To them were born the following children who survive: Dr. P. C. IRWIN of Seattle, Wash., Dr. J. N. IRWIN of Brighton, Mrs. Madge McGLADE of Ames, Dr. R. M. IRWIN of Richland and Mrs. Harvey L. EASTON of this city. Mrs. IRWIN was later married to J. E. CUMMINGS, who died in this city several years ago. She leaves two sisters; Mrs. Julia MONTGOMERY who made her home with her, and Mrs. Edgar BLAIR of Jefferson, Mo.

LAST RITES FOR MRS. CUMMINGS
Were Held Yesterday Afternoon at 4 O'Clock from the Late Residence

The last rites for Mrs. Ella N. CUMMINGS, who passed away Monday evening at her home, 302 South Court street, were held at the residence yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Dr. Gilbert Voorhies of the Presbyterian church conducted the services in the presence of many relatives and friends.

Percy J. Easton, O. A. Easton, Roscoe P. Thomas, Don McGiffin, Walter Hunt and William Stever acted as pallbearers. Burial took place in Evergreen cemetery.

Note: Buried in Lot Old.P.071 with second husband John Edward CUMMINGS; she was his third wife. First husband James Clifton IRWIN died in 1888 and was buried in Topeka, KS. In 1926, he was moved to Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA, and is on the same lot with Ella and second husband John. In a McCLURE family outline published in a Fairfield newspaper, Ella is referred to as Nancy E.
