David DeWayne Swan Sr., 76, of Rogers, AR, passed away Nov. 3, 2022. He was born May 10, 1946, in Albia, to the late Oscar Swan and Jenny (Kirby) Bristol.
David proudly served in the U.S. Army for 26 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Darrell Swan; brothers Jackson Swan, Kenneth Swan, Steven Swan, and Fred Bristol; and sister Connie Closser.
David is survived by wife Gwen Swan; sons David Swan Jr. of Russell, Darrin (Gina) Swan of Fairhope, AL, Tony (Camille) Niblack of Horseshoe Bay, TX; daughters Michelle (Ron) Dickerson of Rogers, AR, Gwen (Albert) Langeberg of Postfalls, ID, Jennifer Swan of Spokane, WA, Gwen “Jo” (Ashley) Niblack of Rogers, AR, Minnie (Phillip) Dunn of Mount Pleasant; brothers Robert (Mary) Swan of Union, OR, Richard Closser of Floris, Geoffrey Swan of Helena, MT, Thomas Swan of Newton, Brad Swan of Newton, William W. Bristol of Brownsville, TX; sisters Patricia Swan of Newton, Carol (Clifford “Buzz”) Kingery of Newton, Rena Bristol of Meigs, GA, Teresa (Larry) Buck of Burlington; and close family friend Mary Aikens. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
A visitation was held at Rollins Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 1-2 p.m. followed immediately with funeral service. Burial services were held at Swan Cemetery, Sully, on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m.
