Larry Richard Buswell, 81, of Marengo completed his work on earth on June 15, 2026, his soul now resides for eternity with Christ in Heaven.

Larry was born Nov. 21, 1944, the eldest of four children born to Cleo (Robinson) and Richard Buswell. Larry grew up on the family farm near Parnell, having many adventures with siblings Donald, Paula and Robyn.

On Jan 10, 1963 Larry married Dianne Lynn Ackerman. Their union was blessed with three children. Amber Kay, who passed infancy, Lynn Richard and Heidi Ann.

Larry and Dianne resided in South Amana throughout their lives. As their health and mobility decreased Dianne moved to Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo. Larry joined her two years later at Rose Haven after residing with is daughter Heidi and her husband (Ed) on their acreage near Oelwein.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, trapping, fishing, mushroom hunting and all things nature.

Larry shared his skills and instilled his passion for the outdoors with his son, Lynn. They shared many, many adventures which enabled them to form an unbreakable and beautiful bond that lasted Larry's lifetime.

Even greater than Larry's love the outdoors was his love for Christ. After giving his life to Christ, Larry and Dianne founded a church in North Liberty in the mid '90's. A few years later they were called to grow their church and Meadow Hill Christian Fellowship was founded and built near Homestead with the help of church parishioners. Larry and Dianne pastored and grew the church together. Larry was blessed with an anointing from God. He was gifted with being a powerful preacher and his words brought many to know and accept Christ as their savior.

Larry is survived by his wife, Dianne, of Marengo; son Lynn (Liz) of West Amana; daughter Heidi (Ed) of Oelwein. 4 grandchildren, Hannah, Rachel, Chloe and Noah and 3 great grandchildren, Penelope, Josie and Vinny.

Larry is preceded in death by his daughter, Amber (in infancy); parents, Richard and Cleo Buswell; and siblings, Donald Buswell and Paula Buswell.

Celebration of Life will be held July 12. 2 Pm Marengo American Legion Memorials in Larry's name may be made to Essence of Life Hospice, Amana, IA.
