Kevin Douglas Schwarting was born January 3, 1959, in Iowa City. The son of Duane and Darlene (Brown) Schwarting. He graduated from Williamsburg High School. Kevin was united in marriage to JoAnn Leibold on August 27, 1994, at the Middle Amana Park.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. Kevin took great pride in farming and in the farm he built, where he especially enjoyed raising hogs, farrowing, and growing pumpkins. He also dedicated many years working for the United States Postal Service. In his free time, he found joy in fishing, playing pool, riding his Harley, and cherishing time spent with family and friends.

Kevin died Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids at the age of 67 years.

He is survived by his wife JoAnn, daughter, Natalie (Scotty Boyce) Schwarting of Oxford; a son, Jess (Melissa) Leibold of Iowa City and his father Duane Schwarting of Homestead. He is preceded in death by his mother Darlene and a brother Darrell Schwarting. Funeral Service will be 10:30 am on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A general memorial has been established.
