Kenneth James Donahue, 92, of Sellersburg, IN, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at Lincoln Hills Health Center in New Albany, IN.

Kenneth was born December 3, 1931, to Fulton “Doc” Donahue and Verletta (Conklin) Donahue of North English, Iowa. He grew up in North English and graduated from high school in 1950. On May 11, 1951, he was united in marriage to Betty Jo Gilchrist and they made their home in North English. He worked at Amana Refrigeration for 42 years before going to work as a hunting guide at Iowa Safari, Williamsburg, Iowa.

He'll be remembered for his love of the outdoors and sports, especially fond of hunting, fishing, golfing, football, and baseball. Kenneth raised and trained Labrador retrievers throughout his life. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and loved to dance. He never met a stranger and couldn't wait to share the achievements of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Kenneth was a resident of North English for 85 years before moving to southern Indiana to be near his son and family. He was a member of the North English Christian Church, Scoutmaster of Boy Scouts of America Troope 227 for 25 years, and a member of Farmers Lodge #168 Free Masons Kinross.

He is survived by his son Michael Donahue (Kari) of Charlestown, IN, and grandchildren: Andrea Brazzille (Cliff), Kassandra Reuille (Robert), Tyler Donahue (Megan), Mitch Donahue (Marina), Jamie Justesen (Adam), Lindee Stanek (Kyle), Brittni Hall (Andrew); 11 great-grandchildren and many lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, wife, and son Randy.

Celebration of life service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the North English Christian Church. Rev. Dr. Michael Donahue will officiate. Burial will be in the North English Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home, North English and Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. leading up to the service.

Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, IN is has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to North English Christian Church, 131 N Howard St, North English, IA 52316.
