Darrian Taylor became free of pain when Jesus took her home on May 22, 2026. Surrounded by her family on earth she was greeted in Heaven by her dog Zane, her grandparents and her best friend Shay.
Darrian was born Tuesday, June 18, 1996, starting her journey here on earth as a fighter. She was born with the umbilical cord around her neck but had her arm tucked in there which saved her life. She proved every moment of her life that she might have obstacles, setbacks, struggles that most people will never understand yet she NEVER let anything completely defeat her. She was deemed “spitfire” by her mom’s insurance agent around the age of two and it was the truth!
Darrian played softball, was a cheerleader, and participated in various park and rec programs when she was young. She then found her passion for cheerleading, band and choir, especially loving marching band in high school. She participated in the high school Madrigal every year; this was one of her favorite high school memories. She was always a hard worker holding down two jobs while in high school. She had various jobs post high school before she found her passion in being a CNA. For someone who loved dogs more than humans she was one of the best CNAs there was! “I love my old people” she would always say.
Being the first niece, she was spoiled by her aunts and uncle when she was young. She was her aunt Sara’s sidekick for many years. She also developed a special bond with her mom’s cousins Cody and Tom, two of her favorite humans on this earth. Darrian was a proud older sister to Kristian, Addie and Ben. Attending their events and being one of their biggest cheerleaders was so important to her. She shared her love of Disney movies and musicals, specifically through The Lion King and Mama Mia, jamming out in song with her Mom and Addie. Her big sister role continued to expand adding a sister-in-law Liz, a future brother-in-law Konner and two bonus brothers Cade and Garret.
Darrian’s life changed forever when she became a mom. She welcomed Aubrey in 2017, Braelynn in 2022 and Emersyn in 2023. The girls were her pride and joy, the reason she worked so hard, woke up each day and continued to fight even when it seemed hopeless. There are so many of her qualities that come shining through in her girls; her stubborn nature, determination, grit, and independence to name a few. Darrian was about as cuddly as a porcupine but her affection with her girls was incredible. When she was diagnosed with leukemia in January 2024, she was scared but never lost her faith. She said, “I didn’t ask for this, but I can’t change what I was handed so I am not upset about it. Let’s just do what’s needed.” Aubrey always says, “My mom taught me to be brave.”
Darrian is survived by her daughters Aubrey (9), Braelynn (4) and Emersyn (2); her Mom and bonus Dad Jamie and Gene Wenthold; her Dad Danny Isaacson; siblings Kristian and Liz Edman, Addalyn (Konner Quam) Isaacson, Ben Isaacson and Garret Wenthold; niece Oaklyn and nephew Kaycen; grandparents Ron and Terri Edman and Neil and Ruthie Wenthold; half-sisters Peyton and Tenley; many aunts, uncles and cousins. We can’t forget her favorite fur babies Cooper and Charlie.
She was preceded in death by her grandpa Randy Szajna, grandma Marvy Isaacson, great-grandma Joyce Edman, brother Cade Wenthold and grandma Sandy Schuett.
A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Schmelzer (formerly Lindstrom) Funeral Home in Cresco. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026, at First Lutheran Church in Cresco. There will be no visitation on Friday morning, please come in and be seated.
