OBITUARY
Newell Salisbury Rowlee was born on March 20th, 1844, in Trumbull Co., Ohio, and departed this life, Jan. 30th, 1917, aged 72 years., 10 mos., and 10 days. He moved to Iowa with his parents in 1854, and settled in Winneshiek Co., near Cresco. He has lived in this community ever since and followed farming as an occupation.
On Jan. 1st 1871, he was united in marriage with Miss Nellie C. Harris, who survives him. To this union was born one child, Clara, who died April 14th, 1882, aged 6 yrs., 8 months.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his widow, and two brothers, Humprey W., of Webster, S. D. and J. Q., of Cresco, Ia., also three neices{sic}, Mrs. Ethel Carman of Woodward, Ia., Mrs. Persis Greer of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. B. L. Perry, of Orleans Twp., Winneshiek Co., Ia., and a nephew, Austin Rowlee of Mowbridge, S. S., beside numerous friends.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. J. A. Pettit, from his late residence. Burial at Oak Lawn.
