On the 17th of September, 1864, in the hospital of the 13th army corps, Marietta Georgia, from wounds received while on duty, Lieut. Adam Kimple, of Company C, 25th regiment, Iowa Volunteer infantry.Lieutenant Kimple was born in Pennsylvania, and removed with his father’s family to Lee county, Iowa. He afterwards returned to Jefferson College in Pennsylvania, and graduated about the year 1855. After graduating he entered the office of Judge Wright, of Keosauqua, Iowa, and studied law. At the breaking out of the war, he was practising law in Salem, Henry county, Iowa; he immediately left the practice and went into the army, where he nobly did his duty until the fatal messenger closed his career. He leaves a wife and one child to mourn his loss.
