Mr. and Mrs. R.P. Spencer received the sad intelligence last Monday morning from West Union, of the death of little Freddie, Mr. and Mrs. Hover's only child, their little girl Birdie having died about two weeks ago.

He was a very smart and intelligent child, aged about five years. This double affliction brings almost inconsolable grief to Mr. and Mrs. Hover, and they have many friends here who sympathize deeply with them in their loss. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer went to West Union on Monday.
