Marilyn Mildred (Burt) Naig 1935-2021

Marilyn Mildred Naig, daughter of George and Mildred (Johnson) Burt, was born on February 21, 1935 in Armstrong, Iowa. Marilyn died on Saturday May 22, 2021 at Mayo Clinic, Fairmont, Minnesota at the age of 86.

Marilyn graduated from Armstrong High School in 1953 and then attended Mankato Commercial College. On August 1, 1954 she was united in marriage to Robert Naig at St. John's Lutheran Church in Depew, Iowa. The couple farmed in Depew and then moved to Ringsted, Iowa and continued farming. In 1963, they moved into the town of Ringsted. Marilyn worked various jobs, including Art's Way, Coop Grain, and SNC Mfg. In 1986 she then became a licensed insurance agent, she worked for North Iowa Insurance in Armstrong and Graettinger, retiring in January of 2000.

She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church. Marilyn enjoyed thrifting and playing cards. She loved to bake, especially for her grandkids, she always had something ready when they came over. Spending time with her family and friends brought her great joy.

Left to cherish Marilyn's memory are her four sons, Kevin and his wife, Jane of Elgin, South Carolina; Brian and his wife, Michelle of Phoenix, Arizona; Rodney and his wife, Kay of Armstrong; Todd and his wife, Kim of Tempe, Arizona; grandchildren, Alysia Austin and her husband, Mark; Aaron Naig and his wife, Elisabeth; Sarah Naig; Heather Jagodowski and her husband, Andy; Trisha Loutsch and her husband, James; Darci Naig; Taylor Naig and Jacob Naig; great grandchildren, Leif Austin, Lara Austin, Eva Naig, Charlotte Jagodowski, Riley Jo Loutsch, Harper Loutsch, Hudson Jagodowski, and Levi Naig.

She has been preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her grandson, Jeremy Naig.

The funeral service was held Friday, May 28, 2021 at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong with interment at the Armstrong Grove Cemetery in Armstrong Grove Township.
