Genevieve Fowler Schlicher,

CEDAR FALLS — Genevieve A. Schlicher, 98, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, March 22, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

She was born July 30, 1913, in Mount Sterling, daughter of William J. and Myrtle Walker Fowler. She married Raymond Schlicher May 22, 1938, in Iowa City. He died Dec. 18, 1990.

Mrs. Schlicher graduated from Knoxville High School and attended the University of Iowa, graduating in 1937. She was a homemaker, and a member of First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls.

Survived by a son, Dr. John (Karol) of Phoenix and Wichita; two daughters, Jenifer Breyer of Syracuse, N.Y., and Mary Schlicher of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, William; and three sisters, Wilma Benz, Frances Mayberry and Marian McGinnis.

Memorial services: Wednesday, May 2, with time pending, at First Presbyterian Church, Cedar Falls, through the auspices of First United Methodist Church. Private family burial was held Friday in Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, is assisting the family.
