Leoan Maxine Roe

Leoan Maxine Lamb Roe, daughter of Fargust Samuel and Mary Mae Johnson Lamb, was born Aug. 7, 1914, at Woodburn, Iowa, and died July, 7, 1977, at the Decatur County Hospital, Leon, Iowa, at the age of 62 years and 11 months.

She joined the Woodburn Christian Church at an early age and attended the Woodburn schools.

She was united in marriage to Robert Allen Roe Dec. 21, 1930 at Clarinda, Iowa. They farmed in Decatur County from that time until retirement 2 years ago.

Their four daughters are: Maxine Evans and husband Raymond, Ames; Ann Hitt and husband, Don, rural Woodburn; Mary Spencer and husband Bill, and Betty Warren and husband Bob, all of Des Moines.

Her life was dedicated to her Lord, husband, daughter and their families. She enjoyed reading, quilting, sewing, and music.

Survivng are husband Robert; four daughters and their husbands; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters: Gladys (Mrs. Cecil Truman) and Mildred (Mrs. Raymond Goben), both of Indianola.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Fargust Earl Lamb, who was killed during World War II.
