Lois Kuhlmann Clausen 1937- 1988

Lois Elaine Clausen was born on January 25, 1937, the daughter of William and Marie Hagemann Kuhlmann, at Ricketts, Iowa. She was baptized in April, 1937, and confirmed on May 28, 1950, in the Lutheran faith. Lois attended Morgan No. 9 School and graduated from the Charter Oak High School with the class of 1954.

On December 25, 1954, she and Delmer Clausen were united in marriage at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Ricketts. This union was blessed with three children. They made their home on a farm at rural Schleswig. Lois was employed as a secretary for the Schleswig Community Schools for 18 years. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Ricketts, a Sunday School teacher, a Vacation Bible School teacher, a member of the Church choir and the Ladies Aid.

Lois passed away on bruary 5, 1988, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of 51 years.

Lois was preceded in death by one daughter, Tori Lyn on October 10, 1962.

Survivors include her husband, Delmer; son, Kevin Clausen of Ricketts; and daughter, Kelly and her husband, Jerry McCaw of Bellevue, Nebraska. Also surviving are her parents, William and Marie Kuhlmann of Ricketts; brothers: Norman Kuhlmann of Milwaukie, Oregon, Wayne Kuhlmann of Ricketts, Darrell Kuhlmann of Des Moines, Dennis Kuhlmann of Hastings, Nebraska and Thomas Kuhlmann of Beaver, Pennsylvania; sisters: Mrs. Donna Berks of Humboldt; Betty, Mrs. Ronnie Mefferd of Omaha; Carol, Mrs. Gayle Schiltz of Humboldt, and Lynn, Mrs. Morris Holcomb of Bellevue, Nebraska; nephews, nieces and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 1988, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Ricketts. Vicar Robert Hines officiated at the service and graveside rites at the Morgan Township Cemetery near Schleswig. Mrs. Marlene Lee served as organist for Mr. and Mrs. Henry Henningsen and congregational singing. Selections were ""How Great Thou Art"", ""Asleep in Jesus"" and ""I'm But A Stranger Here"". Serving as pallbearers were Milford Schultz, Paul Briggle, Paul Schwarz, Steve Garrett, Vernon Stockfleth and Kenneth Baak.
