Dennis Robert Schau, the oldest son of Herbert and Hilda Reimers Schau was born March 14, 1941, in Schleswig and was baptized by Pastor C. F. Schwidder of Immanuel Lutheran church in Schleswig on April 20, 1941.

He has made his home in Charter Oak since . He was confirmed on March 25, 1956, in St. Johns Lutheran church by Pastor W. P. Schroeder. He attended the Lutheran school through grades five to eight. Since his graduation from Charter Oak high school in 1960 he was employed at Mobil station in Charter Oak, Denison Auto and at present at Farmbest Packing Company in Denison. He joined the National Guard in October, 1961.

He died May 14, 1965 as the result of an automobile accident having attained the age of 24 years, two months and one day.

Surviving are his parents, and five brothers, Kenneth, Merlin, Dewayne, Ronald and Guy.

Funeral services were held May 17 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church in Charter Oak with Rev. O. Schlegelmilch officiating. Pallbearers were Howard, Allen, Edward and Irvin Schau, David Ehlers and Les Campbell. Interment was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery in Charter Oak with Huebner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
