Funeral services for Paul A. Hoker, 58, Dixon, were held Dec. 15, 1997 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland, with the Rev. William Kanne officiating. Sandra Horman was the organist and Joel Paulsen sang. Pallbearers were Darriel Mayerhofer, John Weber, Robin Jackobsen, David Buchanan, Eugene Rome, Harold Meggers and Dick Berdodt. Burial was in the Pine Hill cemetery.

Mr. Hoker died Dec. 12 at Genesis West Medical Center in Davenport, following a sudden illness.

The son of Erwin and Verona Klahn Hoker, he was born Oct. 11, 1939 in Davenport.

He was a farmer and a member of the church.

Mr. Hoker is survived by a son, Jeff, Wheatland; 2 daughters, Dawn Phillips, Wheatland; Jileen Hoker, Tipton; 3 brothers, Gary, Davenport, Jan Schnede Calamus, and Jon Schnede, Remer, Minn.; a sister, Sheryl Dexter, Calamus; his fiancee, Linda Biddle, Dixon; and 4 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a brother.
